Our Chianti Classico Riserva 2015 has been signaled as one of the top three Riserva’s of that vintage by Il Sole 24 Ore in their article about this year’s collection ‘Il canto del Gallo Nero alla Chianti Classico Collection 2019’ by Mauro Giacomo Bertolli.
Our winemaker Serena Gusmeri describes the 2015 vintage of the Chianti Classico Riserva from the viticultural and oenelogical perspective :
“Our Chianti Classico Riserva is made from selected Sangiovese vine planted between 1989 and 1992, managed by guyot. There is a generous spicy note to the fruit that comes through from this plot of land, with great potential for integrated tannins.
To enhance and enrich the natural structure for the 2015 vintage, we experimented with the refinement, moving between barrels of 30hL and 20hL. The aging was around 22 months in wood followed by at least 6 in bottle to give that extra depth of flavour.”
